And there are the Douglas H. And after a good tennis match, you can take in one of the numerous educational or cultural activities readily available such as a cello quartet’s Celli Serenade, a live performance by Opera Colorado or a lecture on travel, physical fitness, college planning or maybe rock inscriptions. Celebrating its 100th Anniversary at the new permanent fairgrounds in Aurora, the community invites all to “moo-ve your tail” to the Arapahoe County Fair each summer.
This is home to the Southglenn Mall, which offers a variety of shops, boutiques and restaurants. One of the mall’s most unique shops is the Canaan Gallery, the largest faith-based art gallery in the country. Specializing in Judeo Christian themes, the Gallery offers paintings, prints, sculptures and photographs costing from a few dollars up to tens of thousands.
Arapahoe County is home to the state's best school districts and is known for the many wonderful educational opportunities available for both children and adults. Littleton and Cherry Creek districts have absorbed the majority of students.
A thriving economy built by many a go-getter has magnetized distribution, commerce, corporations, a government presence with U.S. defense and space projects, along with mining and energy, making this a key trade point for the country.
Voters have mandated that the city council keep sales taxes to a minimum. The council involves the community in civic activities; it has created the Youth Commission made up of 11 teen commissioners and has also added up to three ex-officio adult members from the community.
The Centennial Airport southeast of Denver is among the busiest general-aviation airports in the country, the closest airport to downtown Denver and home to a large fleet of corporate jets with many a CEO flying in and out. The Denver International Airport accommodates other passenger flights. The area has access to all of the bus, train and rail systems available to the greater metro area.
