The west Denver suburb of Bow Mar is a small municipality consisting of about 300 single-family homes. Bordered by Denver on the north and Littleton on the east, Bow Mar is close to the big city but maintains a peaceful, protected community of its own. First incorporated 1958, Bow Mar has grown into a popular club-like community. All home sites are at least one acre and afford views of the Rocky Mountain foothills.

Nearby amenities include the private Bow Mar Lake, where sailing, swimming, fishing and picnicking are popular pursuits. In general, Bow Mar residents are very active, and the homeowners association serves to maintain the social, club-like atmosphere at all communal sports facilities including the lake, tennis courts and walking trail. Bow Mar even has community police department.

The closest shopping districts are in neighboring downtown Littleton or Bear Valley.
